Dochlaggie Kennel Visit which was in the May,2002 edition of the Pomeranian Reader
In Australia professional handlers are practically unheard of , the majority of breeders show their own dogs. This makes it very hard to breed a lot litters and get to a lot of shows. During the last couple of years ,I have been very fortunate in having, Marie Dodds and Leo Whitby handling some of my Pomeranians.
Another big difference between the systems is here in Australia- Champions are shown in the regular classes and compete for the points against the non champions.
Over the years I have had 25 imports here at Dochlaggie. Some have made a great impact on our breeding program , while others for one reason or another I felt I could not use in my breeding program.
It really all started in 1989, when Noel and I decided to rewards ourselves with a 6 week holiday in Europe. During the 2 weeks stay in the U.K. we hired a car and drove all over Britain, visiting some of the premier kennels at that time and also attended a huge Championship Show at Blackpool.
I purchased a stud dog from the late Stuart Finlay Bisset , of Cygals Pomeranians. This little dog was all “Hadleigh” breeding ,a son of Stuart’s Champion Japanese import. I will always remember how Stuart was good enough to show me right through his kennel and show me all his breeding stock as well as his show Pomeranians and puppies.
Another male , Paddockwood Regal Asset was purchased from Heather Moores of Paddockwood fame. This stud was also all “Hadleigh” lines. Regal Asset, now 13 years of age is still, on a very limited basis, siring puppies.
I purchased granddaughters of English Champion Hadleigh Summer Lightning from Maria Holder of Speranza Kennels.
The Paddockwood import bred to the “Hadleigh” line bitches produced many champions, the first being the multi Best in Show winner Australian Champion Dochlaggie Domino, who in turn has produced many winners for my kennel.

One Champion son ,Multi Group winner Dochlaggie Dazzlin Flash has consistently been in the winners circle for the last 5 years and has won r/u Best in Show at the last 4 Pomeranian Club of New South Wales Championship Shows.
Champion Dochlaggie Dazzlin Flash’s daughter, Aust.Champion Dochlaggie Dazzlin Dream , is a Multi Specialty Best in Show winner,Multiple Opposite sex in Specialty, Royal Best of Breed winner and a challenge winner at Melbourne , Sydney, Brisbane “Royal” shows.
